- May be more valuable for organizations with foreign manufacturing sites, or as supplier to non-domestic customers, due to international acceptance of ISO 14001
Responsible Care Management System® (RCMS®):
- Includes Responsible Care® requirements only—no ISO 14001 requirements
- Focus on hazards and risks
- No multi-stage registration audit—no periodic surveillance—recertify every 3 years
- Focus on headquarters site, with incremental inclusion of production sites
- Headquarters must be certified by 12/31/05 (SME’s by 12/31/06)
- May be more valuable for organizations with only domestic manufacturing and supply chain
