Is my product considered a Pressure Vessel?A simple pressure vessel is defined as any welded vessel subjected to an internal gauge pressure greater than 0.5 bar (a unit of pressure) which is intended to contain air or nitrogen and which is not intended to be fired. The vessels must be manufactured in series production and be of welded steel or aluminum. Pressure vessels are divided into categories based on their stored energy and is expressed in terms of the product of its maximum working pressures in bars and its capacity in liters. Class A consists of vessels who's stored energy is more than 50 bar*liters, and Class B consists of vessels who's stored energy is less than 50 bar*liters. Pressure vessels cover a wide range of products, from refrigerator compressors and watches to boilers and air conditioners. The CE certification process may sound daunting, but PJR and SZUTEST can greatly simplify this process. Please contact PJR for more information about getting the CE mark on your pressure vessel.
